Joe Angi is a lifelong resident of Mount Kisco, New York, whose commitment to conservation and outdoor ethics is rooted in years of leadership in youth development, fieldcraft, and responsible stewardship of the natural world. From 2010 to 2018, Joe played a central leadership role in Troop 1 of the Boy Scouts of America alongside fellow Camp Fire members John Kiernan and Preston Bruenn, He focused on instilling conservation values, outdoor skills, and civic responsibility in the next generation.
Since joining the Camp Fire Club of America in 2018, Joe has been a deeply engaged member, contributing actively to the Campcraft and Pistol Committees. In 2022, he was appointed Chair of the Club’s Conservation Education Committee, where he has led initiatives to revitalize field education and promote ethical hunting instruction rooted in traditional outdoor skills.
In 2024, Joe was nominated to the Board of the Camp Fire Conservation Fund. He has played a key role in supporting the Fund’s strategic modernization efforts—contributing to the development of its grant portfolio model, helping define the tagging structure, and advising on communications strategies that increase transparency and engagement with key audiences. His clear thinking and field-based sensibilities have brought valuable perspective to these efforts.
Joe is also actively focusing on grantee relationship management with an eye on future liaison roles with key Fund partners including the Ruffed Grouse Society, Atlantic Salmon Federation, and the Jack Creek Preserve Foundation. His approach emphasizes continuity, trust-building, partner collaborations, and aligning Fund support with meaningful on-the-ground outcomes.
A member of the Ruffed Grouse Society, Joe is especially passionate about forest habitat and upland bird conservation. His conservation philosophy centers on education, collaboration, and stewardship that bridges generations, ensuring future conservation leaders have both the skills and the sensibility to carry the mission forward.
