David Townsend, now in his fourth year on the CFCF Board, brings a strong background in finance, renewable energy, and lifelong conservation values to his leadership role. A former Equity Derivatives trader in New York and London and a Wharton School graduate, David now works in the Solar PV sector, helping to develop some of the largest solar projects in the U.S.

An Eagle Scout and avid outdoorsman, David has been a fly fisherman and upland bird hunter for nearly three decades, expanding into big game and turkey hunting after joining Camp Fire in 2018. He has served as Shotgun Chair, Interclub Chair, Forest and Lands Chair, and Fund Treasurer, spearheading projects ranging from lake enhancements to ammunition procurement during COVID.

David’s conservation focus includes trout and salmon stream restoration, upland habitat management, and species relocation. He is committed to advancing CFCF’s legacy by promoting responsible stewardship: take only what you need, and leave it better than you found it.
